FAQ

Common questions

Everything you might want to know before your first claim.

What is a class action settlement?

When a company resolves a lawsuit affecting many people, it may create a settlement fund. Eligible customers can submit a claim for part of that fund before the filing deadline.

Is ClaimScout a law firm?

No. ClaimScout is an information and discovery tool. We surface publicly announced settlements, explain what each one requires, and link you to the official administrator's filing page. We never provide legal advice or file for you.

How much does ClaimScout cost?

Browsing is free and one sample claim is fully unlocked. A premium subscription unlocks full details, checklists, and tracking for every active match. Pricing is always shown before you subscribe, and you can cancel anytime in your Apple subscription settings.

Do I need receipts to file?

It depends on the settlement. Many accept claims without proof of purchase; others ask for receipts or account records. ClaimScout shows each settlement's proof requirement before you start, and you can prioritize no-proof claims.

How do I get paid?

Payments come directly from the settlement administrator — usually by check, direct deposit, or digital payment — after the claim period closes and the court approves distribution. ClaimScout never handles your money.

How do I delete my account and data?

Open the app, go to Account, and tap Delete Account. That permanently removes your ClaimScout account and synced claim data. See our Privacy Policy for details.
